NYT: Some Object as Museum Shows Its Trustee’s Art... →
Dan Cameron, a former New Museum curator who is now artistic director of the Prospect New Orleans art biennial, said the choice of Mr. Koons made him uncomfortable. “I am a big fan of Jeff’s,” he said, “but he is not a fair or impartial or even interesting interpreter of what Dakis does.”

Announcing BAM Photography Portfolio IV Artists:...
Once again, I am continuing highlighting the artists in the newest BAM Photography Portfolio. Up next is Anna Gaskell: Anna Gaskell’s (b. 1969, Des Moines, IA) imagery explores what she calls “elliptical narrative” – fluid, layered stories that shift and change with each retelling, disrupting common storytelling conventions. Curator: Stressful jobs that pay badly. Thanks... →
89% of curators say their job is stressful (and underpaid considering the level of education needed and amount of work that actually needs to happen to make a show successful). Comparatively, only 71% of substance abuse counselors say their job is stressful. Career change?

At first glance his groupings may seem like...

Announcing BAM Photography Portfolio IV Artists:...
So, Photography Portfolio IV is finally (just about, at least) done. I am thrilled with the results. Sales have started - slowly but surely - which is also good news and we are preparing to go to Miami in December. I wanted to focus on each participating artist, highlighting their donated image and several other examples of their work. First up, Anne Collier: Notes and Observations (Page 41),...

Saw Girls Last Night in Hoboken
Girls were good. I actually had a great time in Hoboken. That was surprising. The most interesting thing, however, was that I realized the guy from Girls looks uncannily like Marilyn, oft forgotten star of the New Romantic movement and current agoraphobic recluse. See below: Must be the extreme side-part.
